1. Introduction

Clipboard History Pro ("the extension") is a privacy-first clipboard manager for Google Chrome. It automatically saves your clipboard history — text, links, code, notes, and images — so you can search and reuse it later.

This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, how the extension handles your data. The short version: your data never leaves your computer.

2. Data Collection

The extension makes zero network requests. There are no accounts, no logins, and no identifiers of any kind.

3. Local Storage Policy

All clipboard items are stored locally on your own computer using Chrome's built-in extension storage. Nothing leaves your device. There is no cloud syncing, no server, and no remote backup. Clipboard History Pro works completely offline.

You are in full control: you can delete individual items, empty the trash, or wipe all data at any time from Settings → Storage → Delete everything. Uninstalling the extension permanently removes all stored data.

4. Clipboard Permissions

The extension requests clipboard permissions (clipboardRead and clipboardWrite) only for:

• monitoring your clipboard so copied content can be saved to your local history
• copying saved items back to the clipboard when you click "Copy"

Clipboard content is never transmitted, analyzed remotely, or shared with anyone.

5. Data Security

Because your clipboard history never leaves your device, it is not exposed to servers, breaches, or third parties. Additional protections built into the extension:

• Content that looks like passwords, API keys, or card numbers is automatically masked in the interface.
• Optional backups can be encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a password only you know.
• You can pause clipboard monitoring at any time from Settings.

6. Image Storage Policy

When you copy an image (for example a screenshot or an image from a website), Clipboard History Pro stores that image locally on your device, exactly like text items. Copied images are never uploaded anywhere, never analyzed remotely, and can be deleted at any time.

9. Changes to This Policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this address and the "Last Updated" date above will be revised. Because the extension collects no data, changes are expected to be rare and cosmetic.
